Through our Dress for Success program we can provide children and adults in their basic need of clothing to ensure they can go to school or work properly dressed.
Providing adequate clothing
Recent studies conducted across 105 countries and covering 77% of the global population show that 1.3 billion people are living in multidimensional poverty. Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia accounts for 83% of this total. Sub-Saharan Africa has 560 million poor, of which 342 million live in severe poverty. South Asia has 546 million poor with 200 million in severe poverty. 662 million of them are children. Many of them walk barefoot or without proper clothing. This means they can get infections and parasites or step on glass and other sharp objects. Also, in cold weather conditions lack of warm clothes or shoes can lead to serious health problems, illness and even cost lives.
