Many girls and boys who have been forced to serve as child soldiers find acceptance back into communities through education. We will work together with local schools to help support the reintegration of these children.
Supporting education for reintegrating child soldiers into their communities
A recent report shows there are almost 30,000 verified grave violations of child rights by government forces and armed non-State groups worldwide. Tens of thousands of children are estimated to be serving as soldiers in armed groups and government forces around the world. Many are abducted or forced into joining armed groups, while others join out of desperation hoping for a better chance to survive. Thousands of children have been killed, maimed, sexually assaulted and forced to fight by armed groups and state forces. Millions are displaced and struggling for survival, in desperate need of safety and stability.
- The number of child soldiers cannot be verified. Online estimates of 300,000 are an estimated guess. There are 29,128 verified cases of child recruitment by government forces and armed non-state groups.
